20.2 MILLION TEU
The DP World group handled 20.2 million TEU in the second quarter, 3% more than last year. This volume growth was due to the terminals in the Asia-Pacific, Americas and Australia regions. The terminal in Jebel Ali, home of the Dubai group, recorded a growth of 3.5% and amounted to a total of 3.6 million TEU in Q2.
At the terminals in which the group has a majority, 11.6 million TEU was transhipped, just under 2% more than last year. According to Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the growth of DP is slightly above the market average.
“This illustrates the resilience of the global container industry and our ability to outperform the market,” he says.
